Monique Rogers Henley, a businesswoman, and mother, is a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama. As a teenage mother, Mrs. Henley had to work exceptionally hard to provide for her and her daughter without government assistance.  With drive and determination, she overcame many obstacles to become the woman she is today.  Mrs. Henley started her janitorial business in her home while working a full-time job. The business grew immediately due to client referrals.  She now has over 22 years of experience in diverse businesses that she owns and manages.  In today’s economy, she employs over 200 employees. Her companies cover the following industries and services: commercial and industrial supplies, janitorial, environmental services, security, construction, and investment property. The businesses are conducted in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Mrs. Henley is a very active member of her community. She participates in numerous non-profit, educational, civic, and religious organizations. Mrs. Henley is a 2009 Graduate of Leadership Alabama.  She has also serves on the following boards: Mayor Sandy Stimpson Advisory Board, Mobile Chamber of Commerce, Alabama School of Math and Science, Economic Development with The Rosenthall Group, Coalition of 100 Black Women of Mobile, Mobile Women’s Business Center, Volunteers of America, Mobile Area Educational Foundation, Prichard Preparatory School, Mobile Works, and International Trade with African countries.

Her continuous success enables her to mentor new business owners. In support of such businesses, she is the founder of the non-profit EXCELL Enterprise.  EXCELL Enterprise is a group of entrepreneurs and future entrepreneurs who are being trained to understand the marketplace and how to operate a business.  She has provided seed money to assist in funding new businesses.

Mrs. Henley also has a passion to train and prepare ex-offenders and drop-outs for employment.  In training her “babies”, Mrs. Henley uses the holistic approach and address: life skills, financial literacy, safety in workplace, and the importance of going to work.  Mrs. Henley is a dynamic force on any team.  Mrs. Henley’s motto is: “Use your time, talent and resources to impact people’s lives for the better.”
